Jon, Wonderful thoughts from a musical genius. We should, however take a look at where Dylan (Beatles, Stones, whoever) were when they “tracked the mud”. It was someone else’s carpet. in the case of audio (or video for that matter) consumption, I’m reminded of an old story about the guy named “Dumpty”. The digital revolution caused Humpty’s great fall, and we still sit here day after day trying to put him back together again. Where are the media pioneers of the 21st Century ?
